Cranbrook Security and Safety is a service-driven department committed to providing security and promoting safety for Cranbrook Educational Community. The department is under the direct supervision of the Director of Security and Safety.

Campus Security officers monitor the security dispatch center, patrol the campus on foot and in marked patrol vehicles, while providing security 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In conjunction with Cranbrook Security Mission Statement (see below) these officers observe and detect crimes and violations of campus policies in partnership with local police, fire, and emergency medical services, ensuring a timely response to all campus emergencies. Campus Security monitors all campus security alarms, access control, IP-based cameras, mass notification, and fire systems. All Campus Security officers are first aid, CPR, and AED certified.

“The mission of Cranbrook Security and Safety is to promote a safe, secure and welcoming environment for every visitor, student, staff and faculty member 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We fulfill this mission by maintaining a staff of highly trained Security personnel; developing relationships with the community and local first responders; while seeking innovative solutions to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate all threats, hazards and emergency situations.”
